Statutory Registers
Companies must maintain specified registers containing details of their officers, owners and other information
Must be kept up to date and details of changes to certain of these registers notified to Companies House
These registers must be kept available for inspection or for copies to be taken or supplied to any members and in some cases by members of the public
Companies Act requires companies to keep the following registers, documents and books

Books containing minutes of directors meetings, resolutions in writing of directors and decisions of a sole director
Register of secretaries
Books containing minutes of company meetings, resolutions in writing of members and resolutions of a sole members
Accounting records
Contracts for purchase of own shares
Documents for purchase of own shares out of capital
Register of debenture holders
Register of people with significant control
Report to members of investigation by public company into interests in its shares
Register of interests in voting shares disclosed to a public company
Register of charges
Certificates of employers liability insurnace
Accidents in the workplace
PAYE, VAT and Corporation Tax Records
