The Silk Road was an ancient network of trade routes that for centuries was central to cultural interaction across regions of the Asian continent connecting West and East, from China to the Mediterranean Sea. The result was the decline of the Silk Road at the end of the 15th century, and diseases also spread along the Silk Roads.
