W04 - How to find great
network-building partners
What's the process? :check:
Find like-minded people on LinkedIn and
set up Zoom Discovery calls :check:
How?
Good Boolean Searches
& being Selective
(covered next workshop)
You only need a few good partners
who also want to build their teams
Do the upfront work to find good candidates
A quick glance at their profile is often enough to exclude them
Look for profiles you like
Search your second level connections
Will they think you are reaching out because you want something from them?
Not if
In your invitation to connect
You mention something you mention an attitude you really liked on their profile - this is your reason for wanting to meet them.
You know many many people who could be good connections for them
You'd like to meet face-to-face on Zoom
Their profile indicates they are interested in building trusted relationships with like-minded others
You align your LinkedIn profile
Search your first level connections to find great people that have already connected with you
We've been connected for a while
I love this (attitude) I saw on your profile
Are you up for a quick Zoom?
If Yes, send them your Calendly
(or equivalent) link

Open your CC Workbook
Your CC Workbook sheet needs to have been created and saved with your Connector
Align your LinkedIn profile :check:
Because when you suggest meeting on Zoom
The first thing they will do is look at your profile
And ask: What's in it for me?
If the first thing in your 'Summary' section is
Although you and I may not be able to do business together directly
It is highly likely that I will know people who could be great contacts for you
I'm always happy to help other people who also have a pay-it-forward attitude
They should want to connect with you
You know many great quality people

What is a Discovery Zoom? :check:
What are your objectives?
Determine if you would like them as part of your team
Yes
I am working with a group of others who are taking a different approach to building their own networks
alongside others doing the same
We are using a system developed by the Connect Collaborative to build our networks.
Would you like to sit in on a CC intro session, meet meet some others & see how they're benefiting from building their networks?
No
End the call gracefully
If anything comes up, I'll let you know

How Important
building a network is to them

Book your guests in for a CC Intro session :check:
Only book in good candidates
What if they have a regular commitment?
It will depend on how important
our way of network building
is to them
They have a choice of Workshops
They will have a great experience
The magic waiting room
The atmosphere and good news stories
The number of people attending
The Workshops that are on offer
The professionalism
The intro session with other guests
What's the format of the Intro session?
The Workshop conclusion
The right people will filter themselves in
Book a Follow-up time as soon as possible
The CC intro facilitator will
ask your guest to fill in this questionnaire
during the Intro Session
to see the questionnaire
It will be emailed to you soon after they fill it in
Make sure you have a
time booked to catch up!
MOST IMPORTANTLY
Book a time to catch up after their CC Experience
This is best done when you are booking them in
Do you want to invest time with them?
CC Intro sessions are part of our Workshops
Don't give them the link to the Workshop
Book them in using Calendly
(accessed from the relevant
Builders menu option)
That way, we know how many are coming
And can view their LinkedIn profiles for greater relatability
Calendly will send them reminders
and more information

Follow up with your guests
after they have attended an intro session :check:
Do you have any questions?
Clear up any misundersatndings
They may want to discuss the time commitment
If it's worthwhile enough, they will find time
Often they will learn things that will save them time elsewhere
Ultimately it's about investing time
to multiply your time
What would you say is the difference between networking and network building
Ask the 5 Golden questions
(in your own words) :check:
Do you feel you would be more successful (both as an individual and as a business) if you built a strong network?
Do you have an interest in building your network?
Would you be prepared to set aside some time each week
to learn the skills of building a team of team building advocates on the one hand
and leveraging commercial value from your network on the other?
Would you be prepared to dedicate some time each week
to put what you have learned into practice by
proactively reaching out to those you have not yet met via Social Media?
Are you prepared to invest some time each week interacting with and advocating for others?
Now these questions are covered by the Questionnaire they fill in during the CC Intro Session
You should receive a copy
of their answers by email soon after they submit
this questionnaire
