Acute Kidney Injury (Regulatory) - Coggle Diagram
Acute Kidney Injury (Regulatory)
Patho/ Etiology
Intrarenal (Damage to structures in the kidney)
Direct insult to parenchyma and nephrons in the kidney
Nephrotoxins/ ischemia/ intratubular obstruction
Ischemia damages cells of the tubules causing them to sluff off and fragment allowing the tubule to leak and the cell fragments to create an obstruction (Acute tubular necrosis)
Postrenal (obstruction blocks flow of urine out of the kidney)
Blockage of urethra or ureters cause urine to back up into the kidney
reverse hydrostatic pressure damages the structures of the kidney
Prerenal (marked decrease in blood flow to kidneys)
Hypo perfusion causes lower GFR and UOP
Filtration decreases reducing O2 demand of the renal cells
Eventually leads to ischemia of structures in the kidney
