At the end of philosophers stone, Harry Potter and his friends return to the great hall having defeated Voldemort (temporarily). He is welcomed back and could prove himself as the boy who lived. He and his friends are given many house points for their bravery and Gryffindor wins the house cup.

At the beginning of the book, Harry is taken to the Zoo by his uncle and aunt to celebrate his cousin Dudley's brithday. There he discovers his ability to talk to snakes and the glass holding it in mysteriously disappears and reappears, trapping Dudley in. This is where Harry first discovers his magical abilities. He is later given many Hogwarts letters which would be the beginning of Harry's journey.

The bigger evil that was to be fought was Voldi but Draco Malfoy and Harry had minor fights throughout the whole movie like when they had that broom battle, when he called Hermione a "mudblood" ect... :

THE BATTLE

harry is in the underground chambers trying to stop voldemort from getting the stone and being immortal. it is voldemorts second attempt of trying to kill harry, and is using the professors body to do it becuase he is too weak.

harry's parnets are killed when he was a baby and was sent to live with is aunt and uncle. later he discovers that voldemort killed his parents and wants revenge.

Throughout the whole movie or book, Harry goes on a local quest to find the philosophers stone. At one point, he goes through a secret passage and has to overcome many obstacles to get to the stone. Before this occured, they were up to mischief around the school.
