This idea started the conflict between the US and the Soviet Union because it attempted to stop Soviet expansionism in different events like Korean War, Berlin Blockade, Vietnam War, etc.
This increased the tension between the two superpowers leading to several conflicts that many historians believe to have been the cause of the Cold War
shortage of resources
World War 1- This had an extremely big effect on Russia's economy. This is because Russia was actually quite behind the rest of the world when it came to technology and the industry, so the army itself couldn't hold out for long because of the poor weaponry.
The food shortage in Russia, most of which was going to the army earlier during WWI, caused a lot of anger among the citizens. Russia was hit by inflation as well, and it was difficult to buy bread at one point of time. The peasants in Russia often withdrew from the market, as they wanted to focus more on their own livelihood, which made the food shortage worse.
The Tsar did not focus on the livelihood of the peasants either, and continue to ignore the dire problems, which increased the people's hatred for him.
