How will AI affect us Canadians by 2030
Economical
The auto industry
Less employees
Difficulties would be employees protesting, striking, or anything to prevent them from losing their jobs
Another difficulty would be AI's could malfunction at anytime. There could also be a increase in price since more and more companies wish to purchase them and as time goes on, AI will only get more advanced.
AI will take over employees as they will and are advanced. Since they are more advanced, they are more likely to complete a task in a more efficient way. This might save a lot of money for companies since they won't need to pay employees instead purchase AI (robots/machines) to help finish the job.
Government spending
Taxes will go up
Taxes will change. Most likely will impact middle and lower classes.
As of right now Canada is is the lead of a global competition for AI. The Canadian government has already invested billions of dollars. It is most likely that as years go by, Canada will have more AI technology to "help Canadian citizens" and they'll have to get the money to invest from Canadians
Even though it is Canadian citizens who invest in AI and companies who invest in AI, it will cause taxes for the richer to either stay the same or they'll have to pay more
But for middle and lower classes. They might not have to pay as much since they will not have the "proper income" as they will be replaced by AI. They might actually not have the same benefits as they do now. When they don't have work or work injuries or health concerns caused by work, Canada will most likely stop those benefits. More money will go into AI instead.
Difficulties would be there won't be enough money. If many employees are losing their jobs, having little to no money, they won't be able to pay taxes. Or not enough to help Canada invest in AI.
Political
Relationship with the USA
Trades with USA could be more efficient
A lot of money will go into AI and will replace workers, transportation running on gasoline, and with trades happening faster, both countries will have a larger economy
Difficulties would be employees going on strike, protesting and preventing AI to replace them
Another difficulty would be AI to have malfunctions such as shutting down or no more electricity in the electrical car/truck
Socio-cultural
Gaps between the rich and the poor
Will be much further. Larger difference.
As higher ups are privileged to invest and gain more money from AI. Middle to lower class people will start to have a bigger difference because higher classes will be promoting AI while AI will take away middle and lower class jobs causing an income change
Difficulties would be that there will be disturbing people such as the working community to protest and stop the production of AI.
Another difficulty would be the stock market crashes again. For example during the pandemic, a lot of businesses went out of business and stocks from all over the globe were declining
Technology
Technology will advance. From phones, appliances, vehicles, etc.
As different industries are starting to include AI into their products, there will be competitions between companies to see who is better
As there will be competition, they will seek for customers reviews and feedback to improve and become more advanced
With advanced technology, not a lot of people can afford it. This could affect companies rivalry and impact their stocks. When there is trouble with stocks, it is difficult to advance since that would need a lot of money
Environmental
Air pollution
Pollution will decrease. Reduce carbon emissions and environmental degradation.
Canada's air pollution is contributed by industrial and vehicular emissions, agriculture, construction, wood burning and energy production.
Vehicles for industrial or personal use will most likely be electric instead of gasoline
Gas prices will also have an impact considering a lot of cars will not use fuel. And a lot of industries will also stop using gasoline and start to use electric powered products
Difficulties would be the purchasing electric cars
Not many people would want to purchase electric cars because of the pricing and some may even say electric cars don't operate as well as gasoline fuelled vehicles
Climate change
AI will help Canada's carbon footprint
Ai will make it easier for industries and municipalities to reduce industrial waste and overproduction. With AI, we can reduce our manufacturing brand-new items, our water and energy footprints, and the impact on our ecosystems and human health
Difficulties would be its impact on energy and hardware resources.
