WHAT MAKES A GOOD TEACHER?
A teacher has to be able to prepare the class well, with attention and dedication
A teacher needs to be able to communicate well with their students, to be sympathetic to student’s needs, to recognize the different interests and ways of learning that students might have in a big classroom.
Teachers need to have a good knowledge of their subject area
A teacher needs to be adaptable, flexible,
DISCOURSES OF THE GOOD TEACHER
1. Discourse of the competent craftsperson
It suggests that there is a certain way of teaching and indeed of learning.
Teaching is about learning and developing certain skills and competencies.
Teaching is being competent in various ways.
We need to be competent in understanding and managing our own emotionally in the classroom
3. Discourse of the reflective practice
The reflective practice started with the evaluative competences
If the teacher does not become reflective about his practice they are most likely to get stuck in one way of teaching
The teacher has to be reflective with his practice to be better in every aspect
Reflexive teaching is taking into account the teaching principles and the sociocultural factor that students are in

All the problems in the world, for example poverty can be solved starting with a charismatic teacher
The teacher must be carismatic and enthusiastic when teaching so he is remembered in a good way
Teachers are blamed for problems that they are not supposed to fix
Can anybody be a good teacher?
According to the competence discourse, not everybody can but there will be more people encouraged to try
A poor teacher has to be very reflective so he can be better a everything he does, being poor is a mentally condition which makes his practice a worse one if he does not thrash this mentality
A teacher needs to recognize that they aren’t working alone. Working in a group is important.
We as teachers need to improve as much as we can, and to never stop doing that.
The teacher must be innovative to capture the student's attention
The teacher must be respectful but at the same time generate trust in his students
The teacher needs to motivate the students and make them feel like learning
Teacher must change traditional teaching strategies
Must teach according to the needs of the student, and also take into account the age, the level, etc.
Have to be patient in the teaching process.
A teacher has to get feedback from students so he can have better communication and prepare better classes
A good teacher has to have into account the sociocultural factor of his students
The teacher has to work with the best learning theory students have
