Children use gender schema to understand world around them
Also how we interpret behaviors. One thing is true for whole gender
Once developed they try to stay consistent between behavior & schema

Parents are continuing to play a big role in gender socialization
Dress them in "gender appropriate" clothes
Fathers play a bigger role in this
Give kids "gender appropriate" toys
Discipline/Punishment
Should NOT be negative as it only is condescending
NO yelling
NO shame tactics
NO hitting
Needs to be proactive so you teach a lesson for the future

Do it at time of behavior
Parenting
I want to be an authoritative parent
