The Enslaved were beaten to give a message to the others to do what they were told and not to try to escape.

A plantation is a large farm where crops are grown (Tobacco, sugar, coffee)

Enslaved workers did jobs like picking cotton,Cutting sugar cane or working in a boiler house.
Boiler house was dangerous work this is where the sugar cane was boiled and many suffered terrible burns.

The enslaved people rebel against the overseer by being lazy, breaking tools planning arson attacks and even poisoning plantation owners food.

This became law on March 25th 1807, but unfortunatly didnt change the fate of anyone already enslaved
William Wilberforce died 3 days later, his body was burried at Westminster.
