W03 - Who do you know?
Who do you know
that may want to build their network? :check:
Think of everyone you know that may value your help to meet their ideal contacts.
Think of current and past work colleagues
Make a short list
Keep adding to your list as you remember people or meet new people
It's never been easier or more powerful
No longer seen as an optional extra!
Who do you want as part of your team?
You are looking for people who are prepared to consistently devote a small amount of time to build their team of team building advocates
You are looking for people who see the value in building their network rather than just networking with others in the CC
Yes it does take effort
but it's worth it
You only need a few builders to create an exponentially growing team
Let them decide
There are many people who are
looking for a different approach
People who want to build relationships rather than just hunt for immediate transactions.
People who will love and benefit from the CC environment
Open your CC Workbook
Your CC Workbook needs to have been created and saved with your Connector
During a conversation - "Discover" -
Are they keen to build their network? :check:
You are not having a conversation about the CC
Haven't caught up for a while - what are you up to?
What are you looking to achieve over the coming year?
This year I'm keen to amp up my network building activities - how about you?
Do you want to invite them to a CC intro session?
End the call gracefully
If anything comes up, I'll let you know
I am working with a group of others who are taking a different approach to building their own networks
alongside others doing the same
We are using a system developed by the Connect Collaborative to build our networks.
Would you like to sit in on a CC intro session, meet meet some others & see how they're benefiting from building their networks?
What are some good questions that could work for you?
Allocate a set amount of time for the call
Book your guest(s) in for a CC Intro Session :check:
CC Intro sessions are conducted
as part of our CC Workshops
Use Calendly to book them in for a Workshop
date that works for them
We can then decide how many Intro Zoom sessions we need in that Workshop
Attend another workshop session while your guest is attending the Intro Session
Ideally make a time to follow up with your guest
immediately after the Workshop
What did they get from it?
This makes great use of your time -
you can accomplish multiple things during each workshop - bring guest(s), learn, meet others, interact.
You can have multiple guests attending and
Your guests will
Experience the great
atmosphere of the Workshop
In many cases, they will see
a large number other attendees
Learn what the CC is about from an experienced presenter
Have a chance to interact with existing CC members in the "magic waiting room" before the official meeting starts
Be given the opportunity to introduce themselves to others in the Intro session
Follow up after a CC Intro session :check:
Book a follow-up when you book them in for the Intro session
It works really well to make it for
immediately after the workshop
What to expect during your Follow-Up Zoom
Did they understand the difference between networking and network building?
The value of network building
(compared to one-dimensional networking)
However, it will take consistent effort and we are suggesting 5 hours per week.
Busy people understand that it is worth making time for something that has the potential to multiply their time
If building a network is important to them,
taking a trial is a no-brainer!

If you would like them as part of your team and they are keen to build their networks,
book a time register them and
start the 4-6 week onboarding process
You should do the first couple of these
onboarding sessions with your Connector
Onboarding is not just about equipping
It's about building the relationship and trust
Book your first onboarding session :check:
You'll find the instructions on how to register a new member in the Builders menu (Choose the Register or Re-join Option)
Or use this link to access the registration instructions now
It is essential to go beyond just registering them in your first session
Cover as many of the first steps as possible
Especially booking regular onboarding sessions
Initially, as your Connector to
show you how to do these
For example, go through the Builders menu
so that they know what is available
The Fellow Collaborators sheet is impressive
