Woods

New Forest - newer forest, used to be much larger - the Wild Wood. Larger forest was felled. War effort, more felled. New forest planted to replace old wood. Far less dense and tame compared to rest of the wood. Deer widespread, but lacks the more interesting fauna.
Queen's Vale. Shallow vale, planted with fragrant flora. Planted for the queen, lakes, ponds and flowery glades with viewpoints.
Beyond - The High Ride. Trees thin out. Wildfoul among here thrive among heath and copse. Stables and lodges to support equestrian.
Longdale - more like ancient wildwood. Some lodges where the best hunters favour. Rich in deer and bour. Also wolves, bears and owlbears.
Most Northerly. Untamed and wild. The Pines. Accidental encounters with ogres, trolls and even a giant. Sometimes people seek to explore there, there are unexplored caves and lost ruins.
The Deepwood - Most interesting. Dense, North East. Only visited in exceptional circumstances (e.g. impress a king's guest). Fey still live there.
