Descriptive of pain = sharp, severe, dull ache.

Common in: rotator cuff, medial and lateral epicondyles, patella and Achilles tendons.

Tendinopathy is a degeneration of the collagen protein that forms the tendon. Tendonitis, on the other hand, is just inflammation of the tendon.

Treatment
Targeted heavy load, slow speed concentric and eccentric.

Research
Irby 2020 systematic review:
- Regardless of location, eccentric exercises were the best treatment to improve pain and improve self-reported function.
- Corticosteroids, short term pain relief, long term detrimental. Useful to provide gap of pain relief and strengthen within that time.
