Analyze
This project targets new pharmaceutical representatives looking to gain insight and skills for their future career.
This model is meant to be taught with current and retired pharmaceutical representatives who can talk about the field.
This model can be taught without the assistance of retired/current representatives but it does help to have them.
The only thing the new pharmaceutical representatives need is pen and paper to take notes.
Evaluation
After the 4th week meet individually with each participant either conducted by yourself or other instructors
Talk to participants about what they learned and how confident they feel with the material.
If they feel confident in past material run them through a random representative/client situation and record how they respond.
If they pass, congratulate the participant and give any final words of advice before dismissing them.
If they fail to respond effectively to the situation have them review that weeks materials and give them tips for next time.
If they feel they are lacking on some of the topics refer them to past lessons and materials.
This will also act as a review for the course. Which will help find if things should be added or taken out of the lesson plan.
Development
The first week of the camp greet all of the participants and have them fill out a form why they are here.
This will help give a gauge of what the participants need to work on and help guide the scenarios you create.
After each week create new scenarios for the participants to work on in groups with increasing difficulty.
You can track the participants development by listening in on group interactions and the words the students use.
Design
Learning Objective: After a 3-4 week camp the participants will be able to have professionalism and good communication skills when talking to future clients.
Strategies: Practice makes perfect! Give the participants ample situations so they can be ready for anything in the future.
Divide participants up into pairs when working on situations. Then after 20-30 minutes switch up the partners.
Implementation
Engage the participants with enthusiasm about a field they are just starting to get into.
If possible have retired or current pharmaceutical representatives talk to participants about the job and what they do/did on a daily basis.
Encourage participants to go home and work on scenarios with family and friends.
Start by giving general knowledge on the field and what the job entails.
From there turn the lecture into scenarios and break the participants up in groups to talk about the lecture and practice.
Once participants have talked about the lecture in the group have them start practicing situations.
This will reinforce the current lesson and cover all forms of learning visual, auditory, kinesthetic, and reading/writing.
