The Canadian Pacific Railway is the transcontinental railroad extending from western Canada to the easternmost reaches of the country. In the years following its construction, the Railway single-Handley played a major role in promoting tourism and immigration throughout Canada. Nevertheless, there's more to the story than just this one perspective, as Chinese workers were killed, discriminated against, and underpaid. The Indigenous people were stripped of their sacred land, in spite of the government's written statements that they would protect First Nation territories, government officials stripped them of their land. Objectively, it is just a railway, but from a subjective perspective, it takes on a myriad of meanings.
