Eye
iris
the colour part of your eye which controls your pupil using the iris reflex since it is a muscle, the radial muscles contract whereas the circular muscles relax decreasing the size of the pupil and vice versa.
pupil
Used to let less or more light in for the retina because it is hard to see in the dark and too much light is harmful for your eye.

-
lens
it becomes thicker and thinner and changes shape depending on the distance required to see using the suspensory ligaments and ciliary muscles which hold it.

Meiosis
When a cell which is a haploid replicates itself by splitting twice, the first split is exactly the same as mitosis however for the second split there is no duplication of chromosomes and the cell is left with only 23 chromosomes 1 half of the chromosomes needed. It is mainly used for sexual reproduction.
Natural Selection
It is due to variation in a species that some animals may live on longer and pass their alleles onto their offspring and continue to do so due to the variation that gave them an advantage.
Genetic Engineering
Is the process to isolate a gene from a specific animal, bacteria or person and integrate it into another person or bacteri's DNA to replicate the products or help with their lifestyle.
Brain
-
Parts of the brain
Cerebrum
responsible for social interaction, emotions, conscious thinking, intelligence.

Nerves
-
Sensory Neurone
Information from the receptor is sent to the CNS for the brain to stimulate a response and send it to the motor neurone and effector.
Relay neurone
The useless one
It is in the Spinal Cord and resides in the Central Nervous System and transmits information from the neurones to the brain and vice versa

Plant and Animal growth
-
Plant
Can be measured in mass, height, and leaf area over time.
If someone or something is on the 50th percentile for mass, it is heavier than 50% of those like itself and lighter than another 50. Percentile charts are recorded using a number of participants with similarities such as gender and age.
Stem Cells
Embryonic Stem Cells
-
Found in Embryos they can differentiate into most if not all types of cells, but is very expensive and is considered ethically immoral since the embryo didn't have a say.
Adult stem cells
Found in the bone marrow, it cannot differentiate into all types of cells only a few different ones but is less expensive and is more ethically better.

Communicable Disease
Is disease that can be "caught" or spread through people by touch, blood or airborne, however non-communicable disease are diseases which are hereditary and can be passed down due to genetics.
