Classroom Content

Make a photocopy of his assignments and homework; keep a log and continue to monitor the student's progress by commenting on the content struggle, behavioral response to the homework assignment, etc.

Have an informal meeting with the student , offer assistance or ask him questions about the content, to see what is the specific challenges the student is having with content

Reexamine the given assignments and exams, to see if the materials were a difficult tasks

Give them extra time to complete the assignment

If the materials were not above the student level, check for Comprehension

To evaluate the student's comprehension, I would ask the student to demonstrate his/her understanding of the assignment or exam by explaining to me the instruction and some of the questions content, to explain to me their process.

Periodically, ask students on how they are doing in the class, which parts of the lessons are challenging, how is life (but not overstepping my boundary), etc.

Gathering the student's struggled materials, behavioral logs, and teaching materials to inform the challenges that student is having and arrange a confernece between student an school officials about the student progress and extinguish the fire before it becomes a wildfire.

The materials introduced in the class can either be classified in two ways: Very Comprehensible or Challenging

Differentiate with the student on methods and instruction to ensure the student is understanding the materials well, and especially progress their growth in the class to pinpoint the exact challenges that student is facing and to maintain communication with the student, parents, and school administration for any changes or lack thereof.

Establish an informal meeting with the student in order to ask about home and family life, school life, to understand where is the student coming from for the behavioral/emotional outburst, etc.

In addition, to recon additional information from the students other teachers, to compare and contrast the student' progress.

I would accommodate the student with differentiation of teaching approach, keep logs of the student behavior and responses in class.
