Assessments
Formative
Definition:
Formative Assessments are used to gather info about the students. That info is then used to give feedback or alter lesson plans to suit the students needs.
Have the students write down any questions they have about what we went over today. And if there were any topics that were particularly difficult for them.

Interim/Benchmark
Defintion: Interim/Benchmark assessments are given at different times throughout a school year to make sure that students are reaching and learning enough at certain places. They are usually done between the formative and summative assessments during the year.
Have the students take chapter tests at the end of each chapter leading up to the unit test to check on them as the unit progresses.
Having a standard benchmark test for all the students to see what they have learned during this whole teaching period.
Summative
Definition:
Summative Assessments are usually done at the end of large sections of learning, like units or chapters. They are used to review and see how much students learned from that topic.
Give the students an end of unit test comprised of information they were taught from all the past few chapters.

Performance
Definition: Performance Assessments are assessments that are based on a student performing a task rather than them taking a quiz or exam.
Have the students make a bubble chart about the main ideas of the lesson we went over either that same class or the last class.
Have the students make their own problems and present to others in the class to see if they were made properly and if the class can solve them.
Diagnostic
Definition: Diagnostic Assessments are used to see a students strengths and weaknesses prior to an exam or topic. it is also used to see if they have any knowledge or misconceptions about the upcoming topic.
