The Divisions of Geography
Physical Geography is the part of Geography that studies the surface of the Earth, an "envelope" that, in addition to its extension, has a certain thickness in depth and height. Within it are integrated the outermost part of the solid land mass (endosphere), oceanic water masses and water currents (hydrosphere) and the lower level of the gaseous sphere that surrounds the planet (atmosphere).

Human geography is the part of geography that is concerned with the relationship between man and the environment, as well as the human use of the physical environment.

Coast
The Isthmus of Panama has an area of 75,517 square kilometers, with more than 1000 miles of coastline and 1000 islands in the Pacific and 800 miles of coastline and 600 islands in the Caribbean.
Hydrography
Panama, a country with a very rainy tropical climate, has a large number of rivers. It is estimated that there are about 500; about 350 on the Pacific slope, larger in surface than that of the Caribbean Sea, which only has about 150.
Human Geography and Politics of Panama
Population
The majority of the population is of Creole mestizo origin (descendant of indigenous and Spanish), although there is great ethnic diversity. Annual growth during the 1995-2000 period was 1.6%. At this rate, it is estimated that the number of inhabitants will double in 2045.
Ethnicity
Its population is a melting pot that includes 62% mestizo, 14% African, 10% Spanish, 5% mulatto and 5% Indian.
Religion
The National Constitution establishes "the profession of all religions is free, as well as the exercise of all cults, with no other limitation than respect for Christian morality and public order." Other religions such as Hinduism are also accepted, but this is little practiced in Panama.
Economic geography
Means
The word "Panama" has pre-Columbian origins and means "abundance of fish, butterflies and birds". The rich biodiversity of Panama is attributed to its unique geographic configuration and position, which creates an isthmus of convergence for the Americas and thousands of species of flora and fauna.
