Sociology is the youngest of the social sciences. The word "Sociology" was coined in 1838 by the French Augusto Comte (on the left) in his work Positive Philosophy. Comte, who is usually considered the Father of Sociology, argued that sociological science should stick to the systematic observation and classification of facts.
