Sports Photographer (Photography Trainee Position) - Coggle Diagram
Me at Work
At work, I am focused, hard-working and attentive to detail. This is important in my field so that I am always alert to the events I am photographing so that I can capture the best images that will live on as memories of the event.
In a work position, I value a role where I am trusted with personal responsibility to create and deliver a product. I also appreciate open communication with my direct supervisors and constructive feedback is helpful in making sure I am meeting expectations.
As a photographer, my personality does go along well with the job. I personally get along well with strangers and I think being friendly and making someone feel comfortable while photographing them is important. I am an observant person who can catch on to small details that others may miss.
Ethics and integrity are certainly important in the photography field. As a sports photographer or other types of event photographers, you are aiming to capture the events/people in a positive light (usually), so paying attention to that is important.

I don't feel I really have defined my personal brand at this point. My portfolio shows a variety of photography that I have done, and I think of the overarching theme to be capturing the world as it is/ as I see it.
Long Term Goals
My budget would be tight, and I would need to be mindful of excess spending on unnecessary things.
I have already been paying into life insurance for the past few years, but I would love to start putting savings into an IRA or 401k if my budget allows in the coming years.
At this moment a major financial goal I have is to save up for a car once I graduate college. I also will be in search of a new apartment after my current lease is up.
On the short term, I think I tend to overspend on things I don't necessarily NEED to buy. I aspire to live more minimally in my life so that I can spend my money wisely and not possess so many things.
Manager positions in this industry can vary in salary. I think that it depends on location and your time and experience in the field.
Life-Long Learner
To continue to learn after graduation, I think I plan to stay informed on industry news related to technology like new cameras and gear, and trends in popular photography styles. I can watch videos or take lessons on new techniques or styles, or just browse different photographers' styles and learn by what I see.
I think there is certainly a high saturation of photographers. With cell phone camera technology being so advanced, someone can easily be a hobby photographer with their phone.
I think there could be steady growth in opportunities in the field, as more and more companies and organizations arise with a need for photography.
I don't feel that I will need to pursue a further degree in the next 5-10 years for my industry. There may be a need to further my education if I ever decide to change up my career plan, but at this point in time I have no idea what that would look like.
