Activity Management
Activities pretty much go across all Object Records.
There will be 2 sections: Open Activities and Activity History.
Open are Activities that need to be actioned on.
The onus is on the User to log these activities. It is useful for analytics that they adopt these activities.
Buttons available are: New Task, New Event (on Open Activities).
Log a call, Mail Merge, Send an Email, View all (on Activity History).
Can relate tasks to a certain amount of Standard Objects and all Custom Objects..
The difference between Events and Tasks, is that you can invite People to an Event and the Event runs from one date to another. Task is only one date.
Despite having an Activity Object, you cannot add Fields via the Object overview. There is a separate setting in Setup called Activity Fields. Here you can make up to 100 custom Fields for Activities or Events.
When making the Field you can choose the Page Layout for Event and/or Activity.
Chatter
Main collaboration tool in SF
When uploading a file to the Files Object, it will be Private by default.
You can the share with: People, Groups, or via a Link from the overview page of the uploaded image.
When doing it via the link, it can be accessed from external Users by default, but you can put security on it to prevent it.
There is Private messaging via Chatter. It is accessible under your Chatter Profile.
Any post you create you can edit. There is a drop down next to each Chatter post. These are: Edit1, Bookmark, Delete1, Add Topics, and Mute.
Only if you created the post.
People Section
You can follow People in the Org here.
Files
Same as if you were in the Files Object.
Chatter Group
People inside and outside of org can chat in these groups.
When creating a new group from your Chatter overview, you can set visibility options.
You must enable feed tracking on the object before it will appear.
Setup > Chatter > Feed Tracking, then select the Object you want to enable it on.
In addition to enabling Feed Tracking. Any Fields you enable here will update any Users who are following those Fields will be notified on any changes via Chatter.
Salesforce1 (Mobile App)
Available on Android and iOS.
You can access all the same Apps in SF1 that you can on the desktop version.
You can even access multiple Orgs on this.
Can Create and put on the layout, Global Actions. They will appear at the bottom. Useful to make for Users that do specific things.
When you load an Object, these actions will be different and will relate to the specific actions. You can click all Actions that will produce a butt load more actions.
Setup > Salesforce1. This is where you can set it all up. Like branding and Navigation.

Salesforce Administration App.
An App exclusive for Admins.
Can manage Users / Check Instance / Browse Resources and a couple more settings based on your User.
App Exchange
Salesforces App store.
SALESFORCE LABS
These are Apps developed by Salesforce for FREE!
App Exchange > Solutions By Type (tab)
Apps are fully configured.
Bolt Solutions are partial completion, allowing you to customize the last little bits.
Flow Solutions are built flows you can use.
Lightning Data are data providers. For potential new clients for your org. Basically paying for good data.
Lightning Components are a load of addons you can get for Lightning.
Industry Collections (tab) for industry specific things.
DEMO JAMS! Are events that happen where companies do live demos. 3 minutes each though!
At the end of them you vote on the ones that wowed you.
Salesforce Adoption Dashboard is a great (free) app that shows how many Users are interacting and adopting the platform.
