Diagnostic
Definition: the use of a tool, such as a test, to determine the knowledge and skill level of a student prior to a lesson.
KWL Chart: graphic organizers that help students organize information before, during, and after a unit or a lesson
Pre-Assessment: test given to students before a unit to determine their knowledge of the topic before teaching it.

Benchmark
Definition: given periodically throughout a school year to establish baseline achievement data and measure progress toward a standard or set of academic standards and goals.
District Assessment: A district-wide test that assess students knowledge learned at the end of the year.
STAAR: Texas standardized test given to assess students' knowledge learned/achievements in grade grade level
Performance
Definition: a form of assessment that requires students to perform a task rather than select an answer from a ready-made list.
Picture Stations Activity: Students will go to each picture from the French andIndian War around the room and write down the importance of the picture at each station.
Reenactment: have students reenact the peace discussions at the drafting and signing of the Treaty of Paris.
