Formative
Definition: An assessment that teachers give to students during the learning of a lesson or unit in order to provide teachers feedback to improve their lessons and to improve students learning.
Exit Ticket: Students will write or answer a question that is a given to them over current content that they will give to the teacher at the end of class.
Classroom Kahoot: A game that is used in a whole classroom format that quizzes students and gives they points based on the amount of correct answers they give. It also shows teachers how many students get a certain question right or wrong.
Interim/Benchmark
Definition: An assessment that is used during the school year to see students understanding on content and see how they will preform on future assessments.
Rubric: A project that is paired with a rubric that outlines what the project needs to reflect of the students' learning.
STARR: A Texas standardized test that is given to understand students' knowledge that is learned in a grade level.
Summative
Definition: An assessment that is used to evaluate a students learning and academic achievement at the end of a unit, semester, or year.
SATs: A standardized test that is used for colleges to understand what a student knows and how well they know it.
Midterm/End of term exams: Exams that are given at the end or middle of a term to assess a student's knowledge over a period of time.
