Definition: Type of assessment that requires students to perform a task or complete an objective versus answering premade questions such as a multiple-choice test.
Definition: The act of gathering information for feedback about what the students know or what they have learned. These are typically not weighted as much for a student's overall grade and are more for the teacher to adjust teaching and instruction methods.
