How does our brain works?
The
brain
is the organ that controls everything we do. It's the control centre of the
nervous system
The
brain
is divided in three parts
Cerebellum
: controls coordination and balance
Brain stem
: controls involuntary actions
Cerebrum
: controls voluntary actions
Our
sense organs
send information to our brain through the
nerves
Why do you have a skeleton?
The
locomotor system
allows us to move. It has three parts:
Bones
are hard and rigid.
Muscles
are soft and elastic.
Muscles work by
contracting
and
expànding
Joints
are where your bones connect to each other.
Why do you have earwax?
Our sense of
hearing
allows us to distinguish between different sounds.
The ear is divided in three parts:
Outer ear
Sound waves enter the
outer ear
Middle ear
They continue to the middle ear and make the
eardrum
vibrate
Inner ear
These vibrations make the liquid in the
middle ear
move.
This movement send information to the
brain
Which part of your eye is similar to a cat's whisker?
Our sense of
sight
allows us to perceive shapes, size, movement, distance and color.
Sight
is a four steps process:
The light forms and
upside-down
image on the
retina
The information is sent to the
brain
.
Light reflects and enters the eye.
The brain reads the signal and tells us what we are seeing.
The eye has five parts: eyebrow, eyelid, eyelashes, iris and pupil.
How do you know if popcorn is sweet or salty?
Our senses of
smell
and
taste
are connected.
