- - - - As a young girl I would listen to Deifying Gravity from her I stand album. This version of the originally version of the song was very power to me because the song in a solo felt like the song was meant for me as a pick me up and get moving. I would sing this song when I was struggling. When I later learned what context the song originally came from it became even more meaningful to me. Its become a song of being true to your self and being willing to stand a lone when others will not stand with you. I have hear other sing Defying Gravity but they don't pull the same emotional meaning as when I hear Idina's version
    - - Similar to her role in Enchanted. Idina's portrayal as Elsa touched me. Elsa's strugle as an odersister trying to fullfil her role in life felt so simular to my life at the time. Idina made Elsa feel real. After watching frozen I started to learn more about Idina and became more and more inspired.
    - - Idina's role in Enchanted was my first experience watching Idina act. Idina playing Nancy was my favorite part of the show. When Idina developed the character to be someone you liked, and you were excited about her happy ending. In an interview about her role she said, "I didn't want to play her as a typical mean girlfriend that everyone's going to hate. I thought it would be more interesting if she had a vulnerability and I knew we were heading there and that she's going to be funny and have a sweet side to her." The end scene of the movie showing Nancy as a cartoon was my absolute favorite part. They made her look so beautiful, and in my little girl heart I wanted to be her.
    - - Lastly, Idina's work with children and girls inspires me to be more like her. "[Idina] co-founded the A BroaderWay Foundation in 2010. The organization is dedicated to offering girls from underserved communities an outlet for self-expression and creativity through arts-centered programs. The emphasis is on building self-esteem, developing leadership qualities and striving for personal and social achievement."
        While I or anyone I know have not been in ABroaderWay I have used her skills camp singing from Walmart to improve my skills. Watching her share her talent for singing and her story has helped me become more confident in my own abilities.
