Stress/hairline:
looks like a tiny crack
Complete (left):
the bone is completely broken into separate pieces
Partial (right):
the bone is not completely broken
Closed (right):
the bone doesn't break through the skin
Open (left):
the bone can be seen because it broke through the skin
Pathologic:
a disease causes the bones to be weak and easy to break
Stable (left):
the broken bones didn't move out of place
Displaced (right):
the broken ends of the bone has a gap in-between
Oblique:
the break is at an angle to the bone or curved
Transverse:
bone breaks at a 90-degree angle
Greenstick:
children's bones haven't fully developed, so the bones are soft, and they bend instead of breaking
Comminuted:
the bone breaks into many fragments
