Peasants
They lived in great poverty
They were the large majority
They paid much more taxes and have much less political power
Bourgeoisie
Rich well educated people
They were: merchants, lawyers and bankers
They paid more taxes than peasans and have much less political power
Urban workers
They were artisans, unskilled workers and servants
They paid more taxes than urban workers and have much less political power
The church (First estate)
had their own courts
they recived tithes and owned large estates
they paid very few taxes
The high clergy was rich and powerfull
The low clergy was normally very poor
The nobility (Second estate)
Paid very few taxes
thay had many power over their vassals
tehy could judge their vassals in manorial courts
they recived various taxes and fees from their vassals
its main role during feudalism was to protect ordinary people and provide armies to the king
monarch
Have absolute power
Control all aspects of the goverment
had most privileges
