interactive multimedia products
what kind of images do they have?
social media apps
The app I studied was Instagram. Instagram's images vary wildly due to posts, this is because it is the users uploading images to Instagram not the company itself. However Instagram targets certain posts at you depending on what you like through accounts and hashtags, so it is still targeting several different target audiences. Instagram has images that are set up by the company which are the icons used for tabs etc. which are simple to fit in with the modern house-style. Most social media apps are like this in the fact that most of the images on the interface are from the users using it.
websites
The websites I studied were amazon and the Wordsworth house website. The Wordsworth house website used its images to promote the experience it was advertising and to fit in with themes, this meant that their photos were of Wordsworth house itself or of nature. Amazon uses images to promote and advertise the products they are selling, this is usually of the product against a white background to place emphasis, and to fit in with its modern theme.
what kind of layout do they have?
portrait
nearly all the products I reviewed had a portrait layout with a scrolling feature which made navigation simple.
landscape
the only product I reviewed that had a landscape layout was rayman legends this was to increase space on the monitor for the user to use the game, and also because it is 2nd and only goes left and right, up and down.
what kind of text do they have?
most of the multimedia products I have reviewed have had sans serif fonts for the important blocks of writing so they are easy to read.
A few of the multimedia products have used a serif font, Rayman legends and the Wordsworth house website, mostly for titles in order to fit a theme.( natural and fantasy.) However this is still easy to read.
how are they interactive?
Lots of the products had a scrolling feature which allowed you to navigate the page.
Some products such as the Wordsworth house website had videos to make it more engaging.
Hyperlinks were frequently used these quickly take you to other pages
All the multimedia products had text

they mostly had a modern house-style for a broad target audience.
