Non Neoplasia Group 2 - Coggle Diagram

- - - - Involvement: More than one bone
      - Gender/Age: Children under 10 years old-females>males
      - Localization: skull, clavicles and long bones are often affected.If in long bones they may exhibit bowing pathologic fractures and pain
      - Skin lesions are seen as light brown macules called cafe au lait spots
  - - - Most. common type of fibrous dysplasia: 85%. Monostatic fibrous displasia
      - Localization: Max-Mand commonly affected; mostly maxilla
      - Commonly involve a single bone
      - Ribs, femur and tibia
      - No sex predilection is seen. Commonly diagnosed in children and young adults.
      - If present in maxilla: it usually extends into the maxillary sinus and surrounding bones and is called craniofacial fibrous displasia.
- - - - Treatmen: Usually not necessary. However on edentulous pts. The sclerotic masses may perforate mucosa leading to communication with the oral environment and undelying bone. Osteomielitis, pain and swelling, antibiotic +surgical procedure.
