Bone Disorders
Osteoporosis: matrix of the bone remains the same but bone mass declines. Mainly affects post-menopausal women. Men are less likely because of the effects of testosterone. To prevent, get lots of calcium and lower the absoprtion of carbonated drinks and alcohol
Paget´s disease: haphazard bone deposit and resorption that causes the bone to grow too quickly and develop poorly. Occurs mainly in spine, pelvis, femur, and skull.
Osteomalacia and rickets
Osteomalacia: not enough minerals in bones and results in weak and soft bones with pain during growth.
