        Birch wood is medium-weight and has good strength properties: it is elastic and tough but not particularly hard. Shrinkage varies from slight to strong. Except for the bark, birch wood is not durable. Birch wood is light and easy to work.
    - - Oak wood is exceedingly strong, heavy and durable. It is an attractive light colour with a prominent grain and is resistant to fungal attack, thanks to its dense constitution and long-living nature, which must equip the tree for its long lifetime.
        
        Oak is commonly used for furniture, joinery, flooring, panelling, decking and veneers.
    - - Rubberwood is a light-colored medium-density tropical hardwood obtained from the Pará rubber tree (Hevea brasiliensis), usually from trees grown in rubber plantations.
        
        Rubberwood is perishable, and has very little natural resistance to decay. It is also susceptible to fungal staining and insect attacks. Workability: Easy to work with both hand and machine tools.
