        They won the war and granted rights to live, to pursuit happiness and other rights which were ALIENABLE. This was all stated in the Declaration of Independence. Defended the slaves
        
        But on the other hand the plantation owners could own slaves ( in the constitution). It stated that people could have private property and slaves were considered as one.
        
        THEREFORE IT WAS CONTRADICTORY. And the people that created the constitution were slave owners and their family owned slaves, it was seen as normal. Therefore they regarded as having private property(slaves) more important than the rights of the slaves themselves.

        Since the plantation field expanded too much, so they invaded the powhatan territory with their fields.
        
        A war started from 1620 and finished with a peace treaty in 1646
        
        But native Americans started to have internal fights because they wanted to control the better part of the territories.
        
        THEY WANTED GUNS, something British people had. And they traded them
        
        And europeans Desperately needed food because they didn't know how to grow crops.
        
        They started to create tabacco because the tribes smoked them and it was easy to farm.
        
        They needed people to work in the fields. And there were to kinds of workers that worked for them: Chattel slavery and indentured servants ( people from GB or Ireland extremely poor)
        
        The indentured servants wanted to move so they made a contract to get a free transportation to get to America.

- - - - The created the cotton engine in the beginning of the 19th century, it divided seeds from fibres. And it was easy to get cotton.
        
        Cotton market became extremely profitable so plantation owners started to cultivate cotton. 1793. Made slavery extremely profitable
        
        But many europeans countries were starting to ban slavery, so the US had this push to do that, during the 1860s. Lincoln. wanted to abolish slavery and this triggered the civil war. Lincoln was elected in 1861-1865. ( civil war)
        
        States in the south decided to rebel against this desicion.
        
        The north won the war. Because the south didn't have structures and means of communication. In general, the didn't have guns. in fact, in 1863 the north " won " and there was the emancipation proclamation that is the paper that abolished slavery. Lincoln knew he was going to win.
        
        So much so that they were conquering the plantations and gave the plantation to the slaves that were now free. But then Johnson in. 1865 the new president, got the plantations because he wanted to make piece with the families in the south and because the last plantation owners were better at managing the plantation.
        
        Therefore slaves didn't have a job so they started sharecropping. Sharecropping is a way to manage the agricultural system. Sharecropping, slaves that worked in the field harvested crops, they could get their crops but then if they wanted the crops they had to commission and pay 50%( most of the time) of what the slaves payed to the plantation owner for free

      - Became the world largest producer of cotton. Using slaves and slaves worked to get the cotton and bring them into the cotton machines.
- - - - They went to illiniois and wisconsin ( slavery was abolished in 1857). When they went back to missouri Dred Scott and his wife stated and sent a message to the courts and tellimng them that they were brought in two states that slavery was illegal, therefore they were free men legally. He filed a case.
        
        The case went to the Supreme Court. The judges are apolited by the president and remain judges for a long time until they die or retire and can affect all the laws of the nation. Therefore the court can be conservative or liberal that is influenced by the president in charge.
        
        The Supreme Court stated that blacks werent citiziens, therefore there was a disparity in the change of race
        
        Blacks were inferior being with no right that white men were bound to respect
        
        therefore they didnt accept the lawsuit sicne they weren't citizens in the firts place

- - - - during ww1 USA were about to surpass the British and germans to be the most industrialised nation in the world thanks to the immigrations from Europe since they had a massive work force. But then in the beginning in the 20th ww1 started and so people that emigrated stopped going into the US since they were recruited to fight the war
        
        So they needed new workers. They were looking for unskilled workers that would accept a low wage. ( all of this is n the north). so the south lacked workers and it influence the economy because the blacks went to the north.
        
        Because they were looking for better conditions and a less racist atmosphere, and in the south there was also a cotton parasite that killed the crops, .
        
        SO in ww2, the industries of the north created the food and weapons for the British and for themselves because they had entered the war. But they didn't want black workers. so they threatened did a march on Washington.
        
        1941 and ended the discrimination, so since the president gave it to them he called off the march. there was also a boycott in that year in Harlem. Omnibus didn't hire black workers
        
        After the War Randolph started to manifest again to end discrimination in the army with a anew president ( Truman and he signed an act to end the segregation) . But since it was a bad time for the USA they let recruit black people.

        Labor agents went to the south to advertise better living conditions in the north with higher salaries
        
        The urban landscape of the cities in the north changed thanks to the workers, black neighbourhoods.
        Own institutions and own churches.
        
        Bad atmosphere in the south so they went in the north and created the institution of the black for civil rights.
        
        ASA philip Randolph was a socialist wanting to protect the blacks rights. He created the first trade Unions

        After in 1955 ROSA PARKS MONTGOMERY ALABAMA was the secretary of one of organizations in the south for black social rights.
        
        SHe was arrested because she didnt leave her seat for a white man.
        
        A boycott was started in her organizqtion for public busses. Which was lead by Martin Luther king. And they also decided not to go to the business of white owners.
        
        Therefore in 1956 ( after a firing of a law case from the organization) ruled that the segregation laws on public transportation in Montgomery Alabama were unlawful. It was a victory, but it was too local.
        
        Then there was a law added that ended the segregation in all of the public schools, called the Brown vs the board of the education, but almost nonbe of the schools applied this new rule because In the US the vast majority of the schools, are neighbourhood schools, therefore the neighbourhoods are segregated since their are white and black neighbourhoods.
