        The history of the world is primarily concerned with the evolution of mankind. It traces the entire story of man and his progress in civilization and culture from the dim past to the present.
        
        History also teaches us through example, offering hints about how we can better organise and manage our societies for the benefit of all.
        
        History contains not only the history of kings and queens, battles and generals, but the history of the common people—their houses and clothes, their fields and cultivation, the constant efforts to protect their homes and hearths, and to obtain justice. his reign, his aspirations, his achievements, his disappointments, his defeats and failures. Not only individuals but communities and societies are subjects of historical study.
      - Relation with men in time, place and space
        
        Time : Human history is essentially a process of human development in time. It deals with a series of events and each event occurs at a certain point in time.
        
        Place : In addition, History is also important to the concept of place because every story takes place somewhere, and every place has a story to tell. A place has its geographic coordinates. Broadly defined, place is a location. The word is used to describe a specific location, such as the place on a shelf, a physical environment, a building or locality of special significance, or a particular region or location. The term can be used for locations at almost any geographic scale, depending on context.
        
        Space : History deals with humans in space by studying the interactions between humans and their environment. It describes countries and human activities in the context of their physical and geographic environment that defines a particular space. In the concept of space, it is important to understand the interactions that occur in a particular area. These interactions, connections, and processes are facilitated and influenced by the space in which they occur.
      - Based on evidences from the past
        
        Various precautionary measures will be taken to base the data on the original source and to exclude it from subjective interpretation.It helps us understand the past clearly and helps us make the right decisions. As we learned later, it is important to be able to evaluate sources in terms of their origin and purpose.
        
        Primary sources : A primary source is a first-hand or contemporary account of an event or topic. Primary sources are original materials, regardless of format. Letters, diaries, minutes, photographs, artifacts, interviews, and sound or video recordings are examples of primary sources created as a time or event is occurring.
        
        Secondary sources : Secondary sources were created by someone who did not experience first-hand or participate in the events or conditions you’re researching. For a historical research project, secondary sources are generally scholarly books and articles. A secondary source interprets and analyzes primary sources. These sources are one or more steps removed from the event. Secondary sources may contain pictures, quotes or graphics of primary sources. Some types of secondary source include: Textbooks; journal articles; histories; criticisms; commentaries; encyclopedias.
        
        Tertiary sources : These are sources that index, abstract, organize, compile, or digest other sources. Some reference materials and textbooks are considered tertiary sources when their chief purpose is to list, summarize or simply repackage ideas or other information. Tertiary sources are usually not credited to a particular author. examples of some tertiary sources : Dictionaries/encyclopedias (may also be secondary), almanacs, fact books, Wikipedia, bibliographies (may also be secondary), directories, guidebooks, manuals, handbooks, and textbooks (may be secondary), indexing and abstracting sources.
      - Learning by enquiry
        
        Historical research is a process of "keeping history." It is a cyclical process that begins with guiding historical questions. This is followed by a search and analysis of historical sources to establish historical evidence. Historical evidence is then used to construct historical interpretations that seek to answer major historical questions.
      - The search of causes and consequences
        
        Historians are like detectives. They try to understand what happened in the past and why it happened.The concept of causality relates to who or what influenced an event and what the impact of that event was. We are usually interested in how and why questions. Identifying causal patterns is an important analytical skill that allows historians to explain the causes of events in the past. This is also a strategy for predicting what will happen in the future.An understanding of purpose requires a good understanding of the concept of chronology. "The basic principle is change in physics: for every action there is an equal response; every cause has consequences.
