Performance
Option 1 - One Pager: Students take baseline instructions and create their own version of the assignemnt to show mastery of the content in a way that makes sense to them
Definition: designed for students to show their understanding through a performance/demonstration instead of answering questions
Option 2 - Interactive Journal: Students will follow along with activites in class and then be able to create writings, stories and illustrations to show their understanding based off of what was done in the journal during instruction
Diagnostic
Option 2 - PreTest for the Year: Students take a teacher made pre-asessment for the entire year to gauge the students understanding of concepts that are covered throughout the year
Definition: designed to assess where students are in their understanding to guide planning and inform teachers of areas of weakness
Option 1 - Daily Assessments added to Data Log: As students complete daily assignments, the teacher adds them to a data log to track how students are doing daily and to see where they might need extra assistance
Summative
Definition: designed to measure what all students have learned throughout a unit and typically hold a grade value that is substantial
Option 2 - STAAR Test: Students take a large cumulative, standardized test at the end of the year to evvaluate what they have learned for the whole year
Option 1 - DA: Students take the district assessment at the end of the 9 weeks, they are not able to correct/make it up and it shows their understanding of everything learned for the 9 weeks
Interim/Benchmark
Option 1 - QW: students answers questions to let the teacher know if they are catching on to the material or not
Definition: designed to understand students progress in their learning and to decide if students are on track with what is expected
Option 2 - CFA: Students take a teacher made test that can be corrected/made up later on, but lets both students and teachers see where students are in their undestanding and prepares for the future district assessment
