Diagnostic
Definition: This is an assessment where students are given materials as means of a pre-assessment. This shows the teacher where the students are, what their strengths and weaknesses are, and where teacher needs to start for reteach
Connect 4 Thinking: Student make connections between a concept and other words, ideas, or visuals.
Graphic Organizers: Organize information into a graphic representation to provide evidence of learning, connections between ideas, and reflect specific learning.
Formative
Definition: The process of gathering information from students, and being able to give feedback and adjust instruction to enhance achievement.
Mind Bender: Students write down 2 things they used to know, 2 things you now know, 2 things you were clueless about and 2 things I now know
3-2-1 Exit Ticket: After lesson students list three things they learned, 2 things they are still curious about, and 1 question they still have.
Summative
Definition: Done at the end of a large chunk of learning, teacher reviews what could be on the assessment, and makes sure criteria is high quality. Usually high stakes testing.

Project: Students put together a project over a period of time, compiled of different kinds of information with high stakes rubric.
Benchmark
Definition: Assessment given to students in the middle of learning segment, to see where students are and where the teacher needs to re teach or specify in.

Common Formative Assessment (CFA): Learning checkpoint for student in a 9 week to see where they are and if the teacher can move forward.
Performance
Definition: This is an assessment where students are asked to do a task rather than answer questions. Student preform or take part in acting out to show understanding.
Think and Throw: Students respond to a question and throw a ball to another student for them to have their turn at responding.
Dance it- Chance it: Students will work with a partner to respond to a question, they have two chances respond and back their claim. Students will dance to music and when it stops whoever sits last has to work this out with their partner.
