Performance-enhancing substances, also known as performance-enhancing drugs (PEDs), are substances that are used to improve any form of activity performance in humans. A well-known example involves doping in sport, where banned physical performance-enhancing drugs are used by athletes and bodybuilders.

Bone classification
Long bone
Bones that are longer than they are wide, like a femur. These play a key part in leverage and movement
Short bone
Bones that are box-like in shape, like tarsals. These are designed to be weight bearing.
Flat bone
Thin, plate bones that act like a shell, such as the cranium. They provide protection and a large surface to which muscles can attach
Irregular bone
Unusually shaped bones for a unique purpose, like vertebrae. These also provide protection and a large surface to which muscles can attach

Clotting of the wounds - if an athlete is cut during performance platelets will clot the blood so there is no major blood loss
regulation of body temperature -controlled by increasing blood flow to the skin where heat loss into the atmosphere

The skeletal system works as a support structure for your body. It gives the body its shape, allows movement, makes blood cells, provides protection for organs and stores minerals. The skeletal system is also called the musculoskeletal system.
