The executing process group is where the work described in the scope takes place
MONITORING AND CONTROLLING
The monitoring and controlling process group reviews the project or phase work and performance for variances
PLANNING
Since planning is not a one time process, it may occurs at the same time with executing and monitoring
CLOSING
The closing process group occurs last and genarally only once for a project or phase
INITIATING
The initiating process group occurs first and generally only once for a project or phase
MONITORING AND CONTROLLING PROCESS GROUP
Identify any areas in which changes to the plan are required.
Controlling changes and recommending corrective
Preventive action in anticipation of possible problems
Monitoring the on going project activities against the project management plan and the project performance measurement baseline
Initiate the corresponding changes
Influencing the factors that could circumvent integrated change control
INITIATING PROCESS GROUP
Process in the initiating process group are what formally authorize a new project, but they can also occur during transitions from one phase to another in a project

Obtain acceptance by the customer or sponsor to formally close the project or phase
Conduct post project or phase end review and document lesson learned

All final processes that are needed to formally close a project or phase as well as deliver the final product including report to the stake holders.
