Translates to natural law meaning the natural order of the universe. Following the natural order of the universe is ones duty
Other meanings include, Duty eternal law, conduct
Saamanya (universal, general, inclusive, whole, entire) dharma - the universal/ general dharm, that is not specific to a persons role in life, and is hence should be practiced by everyone

Svadharma is subordinate to saamanya dharma: if there is a conflict between different values what is ultimately good for the welfare of all beings is what is considered as Truth.
Hinduism places significance on balance and Hindus believe that by performing their dharma, society is benefitted and can stay in balance, therefore one is doing something good and thus gaining karma.

Karma is not just about moving up the lifecycle chain – it keeps society in balance which benefits others in the community.
Moksha

To reach moksha, one must development and be connect to atman. This is done through meditation
The Family heirarchy

A persons place in the heirarchy is based on their age, gender and seniority.

Atman
The "Self" with a capital S, i.e pure consciousness, not the body, mind, ego, soul, astral or subtle body
The atman is eternal and simply inhabits new bodies and astral bodies. The Bhagavad Gita describes new life like the atman putting on new clothes and taking them off.
