The resurrection is the belief that Jesus rose from the dead
Because Jesus was God incarnate, he had the power to do this
Jesus’ resurrection confirmed to his believers that he was in fact the Messiah.
The Jewish people have been waiting for a Messiah and for many of them, the resurrection was the confirmation they needed to set up the new Church and become the first Christians.
The resurrection can also be seen as an example to humans to actively participate in the resurrection of God’s message of love.
While Christians believe death is not the end, because after death is a new life with God, this is still linear as there is no reincarnation, i.e the soul does not live another life on earth.
