Sacraments of Initiation - Coggle Diagram

- - - - Minister: Bishop (formal) and Priest (extraordinary).
        
        The parish priest, not the bishop is the usual minister.
      - Form: Be sealed with the gift of the Holy Spirit.
        
        Several parts of the child are anointed to symbolize that he or she belongs fully to Christ.
        
        1.) After the homily, the confirmands renew their Baptismal promises.
        
        2.) The bishop then extends his hands over their heads praying that they will receive the Holy Spirit.
        
        Steps of Confirmation during the Mass:
        
        3.) With their sponsor, they come before the Bishop who anoints them by saying “Be sealed with the Gift of the Holy Spirit.
        
        4.) The bishop then offers the sign of peace.
      - Matter: Chrism and the imposition of hands.
        
        The confirmands must have attained the age of reason and must be baptized, freely profess the Catholic faith, be in a state of grace, and wish to be confirmed.
        
        All three rights of Initiation are given to infants.
