        Classical view: management's only responsibility in running a business is to maximize profits, principle concern is to raise shareholder value, arguments against social responsibility include fears that it will reduce profits, raise costs and give business too much social power
        
        Socio-Economic view: management of any organization must be concerned with broader social welfare and not just with corporate profits, arguments in favour of social responsibility are that it will add long-run profits for businesses, improve public image and help them avoid government regulation
      - CSR can impact all aspects of business, businesses can behave unethically - sometimes it breaks the law and sometimes it doesn't

- - - - Autocratic: tells others what to do, limits discussion of new ideas, does not foster a sense of teamwork
        
        Effective when: time is limited, group members lack skill or experience, group does not know each other
        
        Ineffective when: developing team work is a goal, members have skill or knowledge, group wants spontaneity
      - Laissez-Faire: gives little of no direction to team, offers opinion only when asked, does not seem to be in charge
        
        Effective when: members have a high degree of skill & motivation, sense of team exists, routine is established
        
        Ineffective when: low sense of teamwork, little skill or knowledge present, group is looking for direction
      - Democratic: involves group members in planning, asks before tells, promotes teamwork
        
        Effective when: time is available, group is motivated, members are competent and contributing
        
        Ineffective when: group is unmotivated, members lack competence, high degree of conflict is present
