Balance of trade is the ratio of exports to imports. Higher balance of trade means more exports than imports and vice versa.
The US has a negative balance of trade, meaning that it exports less than it imports.

Investing is putting money into something to get returns later. Capital is wealth, not always in the form of money.
Belt & Road Initiative
The belt and road initiative is a Chinese program to build infrastructure in foreign countries (generally Asian or African countries).

A choke point is a trade route controlled by a country that has potential to be shut down or regulated by the country.

Comparative advantages are advantages that regions have in production of specific goods due to demographics or location.
The Ivory Coast has a comparative advantage for creating chocolate, because of its geographic location, of being a specific distance away from the Equator. The Ivory Coast has a better climate for cocoa production as a result
