Research Question:
What are the short-term and long-term impacts of low interest rates the U.S. has gone through from 2009 through 2021 on high income (top 10%) vs. low-to-medium income (bottom 90%) individuals?

Methodology
Using the Empirical Research method for this dissertation focuses on statistical methods and analysis techniques to compare and analyze historical interest rates and savings rates.
Additional analysis will be focused on the portfolios of pension and insurance companies to identify the percentage of fixed income and US treasuries vs equities. R, Excel, Python, Tableu, and JASP are the tools used to drive this statistical analysis. Finally, one completed interview has been conducted with COO financial professional.
Three (3) Papers

1) First, research will be conducted on the low interest rate environment in the U.S. while showing the results of low, zero, and negative rates in other countries and how that philosophy can carry over into the U.S.
2) A paper will research the effects on the upper 90% and lower 90% income bracket and how the low interest rate environment can be causing a greater wealth gap than other factors.
3) Digital currency is a hot topic of discussion. Coming out of the effects of the low interest rate environment, research will be presented regarding business and government policy decisions. Moving forward from policies coming out of the low interest rate environment we show the changes that occur, along with the big movement of money staying in circulation rather than in money-market type savings which can usher in a digitized currency.
