Vasculitis
inflammation of the blood vessels, leads to changes in the blood vessel walls

Symptoms-fever, fatigue, weight loss, muscle and joint pain.

subtypes: Kawasaki disease, behcets disease, burgers disease
Ears: dizziness ringing in the ears, hearing loss
Eyes: red itch and burn. Double vision, blindness

Skin: bleeding under the skin, open sores and lumps
Causes: Not fully understood but can be genetic but can be triggered by blood cancers, infections such as hepatitis B & C, immune disease such as lupus & reactions to drugs.
Risk Factors: Age, family history, medications such as hydralazine, allppurionl, minocycline. Infections, sex- certain conditions are more common in women
Complications: Organ damage/failure, blood clots, aneurysms, vision loss and blindness, infections.
Subgroups divided as small, medium, large depending on what vessels are involved.
Diagnosis- blood tests, urine tests, imaging tests, heart tests, biopsy.
Treatment- corticosteroids to fight inflammation, blood pressure management, immune system support,
