Jared Diamonds Question: Why do societies make disastrous decisions?
Groups make disastrous decisions due failing to solve the problem and not trying again.
Why don't societies interpret the problem and at least try to suppress it rather than just leave it alone?
Groups can have a problem and attempt to fix it and either fix it and create another problem and avoid that or fail to fix it and just leave it be.
Groups can assess a problem that can be too big for there facilities at their current time and just avoid it and hopes it goes away.
Groups make disastrous decisions due to unpreparedness of the problem
They can all be unprepared by the unknowing of the problem as it is happening and the realization is too late to fix the problem entirely.
A society can be unprepared for the problem that they are creating by underestimating the severity of the problem.
Why don't societies do tests on everything that they do to make sure that there is no chance of a problem occuring?
Groups make disastrous decisions due to an inability of warning future generations
They had not created a form of communications to the future generations and as people had passed away there is no warning of what could be to come.
Why don't they produce their own way of communication at least just to warn their people about their problems?
Some groups do not have any form of writing or scriptures to warm further generations about common problems that they are able to protect themselves from.
Groups make disastrous decisions due to forgetfulness of the problem
A forgetfulness of a problem can be the worst of the disastrous decisions because it can be detrimental to the societies resources and how the society can function with or without it.
What is the main reason for the forgetfulness of a problem in a society?
Groups can assess a problem such as a type of shortage in a resource and forget about the problem as a whole.
Groups make disastrous decisions due to misinterpretation of the problem
Another way they misinterpret the problem is by using prior knowledge to try and fix the problem and it ends up being the wrong decision and not fixing the problem.
Why don't the societies do tests on their solutions before going full on and making things worse for them?
Some societies underestimate the problem and the severity of it and how it can affect the current society as well as the future of it.
