Natural Vegetation and Wildlife
Salima's observation regarding vegetation
There is a close relationship between height of land and types of vegetation
with increase in height climate changes
climate changes the natural vegetation
the growth of vegetation depends on temperature and moisture
It also depends on factors like slope and thickness of soil
Types of Natural Vegetation
Forest
which grow where temperature and rainfall are plentiful to support a tree cover. Depending upon these factors, dense and open forests are grown
Grasslands
Grow in region of moderate rain
Thorny Shrubs
Thorny shrubs or scrubs grow in the dry region
Forests
Tropical evergreen forests
The tress in tropical evergreen rainforests grow close to each other, and they have thick canopies (tree cover at the top), so sunlight doesn't penetrate them and reach the ground even in the daytime.
Due to the absence of a particular dry season, trees in rainforests don't shed their leaves altogether, and this is why they are called evergreen.
Also known as rainforests, they occur in regions near the equator and the tropics, and they receive heavy rainfall throughout the year.
Tropical deciduous Forest
Temperate Evergreen Forests
Mediterranean Vegetation
Coniferous forests
