For Us, Not with Us - The Charity Model
Problem: it is an oppressive model that, like the medical model, individualizes disability and constructs an idea of disability that is designed to benefit those wanting to feel better about themselves
Developed by people who are not disabled themselves but have money and resouces and act in their own interest when employing this model
benefits the giver, not the diabled recipient
