Plot
The first book of the Confessions was written about Augustine's life as a child, from his infancy untill his days as a schoolboy in Thagaste.

First, he began by talking about his infancy

He didn't like to study as other children. But he had a good ability to learn but he thinked it from God, not from his teachers.
Later at school he had to learn Greek but he did not like it. He knew it was easier to learn Latin because Latin was his native language and from his childhood he spoke family Latin at home.
Also he wrote about he won the competition, and was praised for his abilities.
:Augustine wrote about some of his past sins and he thinked that the sins of children are the same as the sins of adults.
